9 o'clock - 10 o'clock
1/ Students go through the Introduction of this course.
2/ Students familiarise with the web site of this course proposing them a central access to all needed resources.
3/ Finally, students will organise themselves in groups composed of two to three members.
Wednesday, 09th of November 2011
10 o'clock - 13 o'clock
1/ Each group of students downloads and explores the Research Project Guide helping them to conceive and to realize their personal contribution to this course.
2/ Each group explores the two headings of the course web site intitled "Audiovisual corpus analysis - EMICC 2010" and "Audiovisual corpus analysis - EMICC 2009". Both headings are provided with very interesting analysis of (online amateur) videos realised by students of EMICC in 2009 (Lugano, Switzerland) and in 2010 (Utrecht, The Netherlands).
3/ Finally each student starts, individually working on the first online lecture "Audiovisual scenes".
Wednesday, 09th of November 2011
14 o'clock - 17 o'clock
1/ The first hour should be reserved to a group internal discussion of the first online lecture and, if necessary, to the establishment of a small list of open questions to be sent to Peter Stockinger.
2/ The rest of the afternoon is reserved to the group work: identifying a small corpus of (max. five videos) related to a specific subject, place, event or anything else; beginning of the analysis in trying to follow the Research Project Guide.
Thursday, 10th of November 2011
9 o'clock - 13 o'clock

1/ Each student works individually through the second and third online lecture of this course dedicated to
a) the tecnical notions of (audiovisual) shot and staging 'mise en scène") of audiovisual scenes or objects (through camera position, camera movement, lighting effects, etc.);
b) the (linear, narrative) montage of video shots (and/or) sequences

2/ During the last hour of the morning session, students work again together in their groups, discuss actively the content and purposes of the course and establish, if necessary, a list of questions to be sent to Peter Stockinger.

Thursday, 10th of November 2011
14 o'clock - 17 o'clock
The afternoon is reserved to the group work dedicated to a semiotic analysis of a chosen audiovisual corpus in trying to follow the Research Project Guide.
Friday, 11th of November 2011
9 o'clock - 12 o'clock

1/ Each student works individually through the fourth online lecture dedicated to the audiovisual discourse.

2/ During the last hour of the morning session, students work again together in their groups in discussing actively the content and purposes of the course and in establishing, if necessary, a list of questions to be sent to Peter Stockinger.

Friday, 11th of November 2011
14 o'clock - 17 o'clock

The afternoon is reserved to the group work dedicated to a semiotic analysis of a chosen audiovisual corpus in trying to follow the Research Project Guide.

Note:
The research projects have to be sent by email to Peter Stockinger till the 30th of November.
