Abstract:

Introduction into the semiotic and "cultural" analysis of audiovisual records (especially amateur videos).
Semiotic and cultural analysis of a montage of amateur films realised by the Japanese American National Museum à Los Angeles.
Discussion of different genres and types of amateur videos (source: You Tube).
Group work on concrete audiovisual material.
